We recently provided technical production in the Hotel Café Royal, for the launch party following the premiere of the famous Chekhov plays Life & Fate and Uncle Vanya in the Royal Haymarket Theatre.
The production was put on by a Russian theatre company — this is the second year in a row that we got to collaborate on organising events with them.
After the performance, guests moved to the Hotel Café Royal for the afterparty.
Wireless uplighters were used on the terrace and the Pompadour Room. Ceiling projection was also used on the ceiling of the terrace, in a shuttered Tiffany blue wash to match the ceiling exactly. A few Gas Flambeaux were also set up by the walls outside.
A bank of pinspots in white was used to highlight the focal tree by the entrance, while the rest of the foliage was lit up using uplighters.
The wireless pinspots highlighted the trees, bar, and ceiling.
Staging was also provided for the band — supplied by Stormont London — who played instrumental Balkan, Jewish and klezmer music at the after party.
A custom made monolith banner was set up outside the reception room, illuminated by strip lights for photo opportunities.
